Linebacker Pete Werner is active for the New Orleans Saints’ Monday Night Football game against the rival Atlanta Falcons, but another key playmaker will sit out.
Tight end Noah Fant, who was limited in practice this week by an abdominal injury, will not play against Atlanta. Fant caught a pair of touchdowns in last week’s loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, and has caught three of quarterback Tyler Shough’s eight touchdowns this season. Fant was officially questionable coming into Monday’s game.
Werner was also questionable, but was considered a longer shot to play after he missed each of the Saints’ three practices in the lead up to the game. Werner exited last week’s Raiders game early after suffering a stinger in the second quarter.
