Amid a disappointing start to the season, the New England Patriots have still found a way to battle, despite the many questions they've faced on both sides of the ball.

There were some worries that the Patriots weren't going to figure things out after a brutal loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3, dropping the contest 35-6, but a lot of those questions were answered in Week 4 against a Buffalo Bills team that's one of the best in the NFL.

Quarterback Drake Maye wasn't perfect, completing 22 of 37 passes, but he also finished with 269 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. This was undoubtedly the best game that Maye played all season, and it was a step in the right direction.

Speaking to reporters after the game, head coach Mike Vrabel, despite being critical of him at other points this year, was very happy with what Maye did for his team.

He was happy Maye bounced back after a somewhat disappointing start to the season.

"I thought he just competed today," Vrabel said, per ESPN. "Whether it was a bad snap or dropping the ball -- whatever it may have been -- to come back and really focus on what he needed to do. Scrambling. Being decisive. Using his legs. Being accurate.

"I'm happy for him, I'm proud of him. He deserves all the credit. However things have been, the only thing that matters is what we're going to do the next opportunity we get. Sometimes that's hard for everybody to understand, but I think he really took that to heart."

One game isn't going to change how Maye has looked for the rest of this season, but the more important part is that Maye has been very good over the past two seasons and took his team to a Super Bowl last year.

This wasn't a guy who has struggled throughout the past three seasons now and has many questions. A couple of bad games should never have changed that, so it was good to see him get back on track and do what he needed to do.
