It's been an exciting start to the month for Cleveland sports, and Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was seen attending the Guardians' MLB Playoff game against the Chicago White Sox.

The Guardians have reached the American League Division Series ALDS against the White Sox, and the Browns have made an unexpected 3-1 start to the season. Watson has impressed since starting the year, and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4 under the lights on Thursday Night Football.

The Browns' success has boosted the city, and Watson attended Game 2 of the ALDS alongside defensive end Jared Verse. It comes after TNF viewers were left uncomfortable by Watson's interview on Amazon Prime.

The Browns are one of 12 teams that has never won the Super Bowl and one of four franchises never to reach the modern NFL championship game. Although success isn't expected anytime soon, the Browns have endured two brutal seasons after going 11-6 in 2023.

An 8-26 record has followed since losing in the 2023 Wild Card Round, and Watson has barely played since signing a five-year, $230 million contract. After playing just 19 times over four of those years, Watson has started the season healthy, and the Browns are benefiting.

An opening-day loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars has been followed by three straight wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Carolina Panthers, and the Steelers. The Browns are tied at the top of the division with the Baltimore Ravens, with the Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals 2-2 on the season.

In recent years, Browns stars have shied away from major public outings as the team has not performed as desired, and Watson has also avoided the spotlight. However, after a promising start to the NFL season, Watson and Verse enjoyed a night out at the baseball game.

Despite the recent success on the football field, things appear to have stuttered at home for the Guardians, with the White Sox taking a shock 2-0 series lead. Chicago reached the MLB postseason for only the sixth time in franchise history this year, though it was the first time since 2005.

The White Sox continued their momentum into the playoffs, sweeping the Houston Astros on the road in the Wild Card Series. Many assumed that the historic run would end in Cleveland, but history could be made when the series heads back to Chicago for the first time in over two decades.

The White Sox have the chance to clinch a postseason series at home for the first time in 120 years when facing the Guardians on Wednesday. The last time that the White Sox reached the postseason in 2005, they went all the way and won the World Series.

After a 3-0 win in Game 1, Chicago came back from a nightmare start to clinch the second game 4-3. The Guardians took a two-run lead in the first inning, but a late score in the ninth wasn't enough to avoid defeat.

The Guardians have been postseason regulars in recent years, missing out on the playoffs just once since rebranding from the Cleveland Indians in 2022. Cleveland's best run since then came in 2024, reaching the ALCS before losing to the New York Yankees.

An 88-win season last year ended in disappointment after losing to the Detroit Tigers in the Wild Card Series. The Cleveland franchise has never come back from a 2-0 deficit in a best-of-five postseason series, meaning history will need to be made against the White Sox.
