Bengals’ Joe Burrow has message for worried fans after two straight losses image
After starting the season on the right foot, going 2-0 with two impressive wins against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston and the Houston Texans, the Cincinnati Bengals have now dropped two straight after a loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers before a Week 4 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which resulted in a 22-17 loss.
The Bengals had a real opportunity to win this game, despite dealing with an injury to Ja'Marr Chase.
The season is still young, but Cincinnati looks above average. The Bengals are playing better on the defensive side of the football, and quarterback Joe Burrow continues to be one of the best in the NFL, just as he's been throughout his career.
Cincinnati should find itself in a relatively good spot.
As for these two disappointing losses, nobody seems to be panicking just yet in the Bengals' locker room. Burrow spoke about that, adding that his team is very confident and they believe they have a lot of the right pieces to win games.
“We’re still very confident,” Burrow said, per The Athletic. “And we have guys in the locker room who feel real good about who we are, where we are and what we’re going to do. Obviously, the last two weeks haven’t gone the way we wanted. I was proud of us fighting back in that fourth quarter.
“Obviously, I’d like to get it done. We’re not here for moral victories. This is the NFL. No excuses, we’ve got a lot ahead of us.”
Cincinnati will have an excellent opportunity to get back on track in Week 5, as it takes on a Miami Dolphins team that's arguably been the worst in the NFL to start the season.
Things won't get easy after that, however, as Cincinnati will travel to Baltimore to take on the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson.
There's lots to like about what this Bengals team has looked like, despite some losses to start the year.
It's still very early, but Cincinnati has a decent foundation on the defensive side of the football and the offense is always going to be very good.
