Liverpool and Manchester United also want Juventus target

Manchester United and Liverpool have emerged as suitors for Alejandro Balde, making it more difficult for Juventus to sign the Barcelona defender, according to Calciomercato.

Balde has been regarded as one of the leading young defenders for some time, but his spell at Barcelona could soon come to an end. The Catalan club is reportedly willing to consider moving him on after his position within the squad changed.

Balde attempted to leave during the summer, but a transfer did not materialise. He is now no longer regarded as an important member of the team and rarely receives opportunities under Hansi Flick.

That situation has opened the door for Juventus to consider him as a potential new left-back. However, the growing interest from England has made the move considerably more difficult.

Premier League clubs lead race

Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly the leading sides in the race for Balde. Both clubs are looking to strengthen at left back and could provide stronger financial competition than Juventus.

The defender’s representatives are exploring possible destinations, while Barcelona is prepared to consider a loan move during the January transfer window. A temporary agreement could allow Balde to regain regular playing time away from Camp Nou.

Juventus remains interested, but the Bianconeri would prefer a deal that includes an option to buy. That approach would allow the club to assess Balde before committing to a permanent transfer.

Juventus faces financial challenge

Juventus understands that signing a top player requires a substantial investment. However, the club does not possess the same financial strength as the Premier League teams competing for Balde.

If Barcelona creates an auction for the defender, Juventus could struggle to match the offers from Manchester United and Liverpool. The English clubs can afford to make more competitive proposals and may also offer Balde higher wages.

The situation leaves Juventus relying on the player’s preference and the possibility of a loan agreement. Balde may see regular football in Turin as an attractive option, particularly if he remains out of favour at Barcelona.

However, unless the Bianconeri can reach an agreement before the Premier League clubs make decisive offers, Juventus could lose the race for the left-back.
