The first international break of the campaign is a good point at which to take stock of the Liverpool players who have headed out on loan for the season
The Reds were slightly less active than usual during the loan market in 2026, choosing to keep hold of players such as Lewis Koumas, James McConnell and Luke Chambers, who might ordinarily have found temporary clubs.
However, nine Liverpool players did still move on, either for the full or half season, with Kieran Morrison the pick of the bunch so far.
While the international break has given the likes of Florian Wirtz a chance to reset, Liverpool now look set to face Man City without some key stars. Has the international break helped or hindered the Reds and why?

Kieran Morrison: Sheffield Wednesday
There was perhaps some surprise at seeing Morrison head to a League One club after a decent first summer with the Liverpool first-team, but it has so far looked like a good move for the 19-year-old.
Having slowly eased himself into the team, Morrison is now a starter for the Owls, claiming two assists across three games in August and September.
He has since gone two appearances without a goal contribution, but he did take a step forward last week after registering his first ever assist on only his second cap for Northern Ireland. Morrison started against Ukraine on Friday, playing well and setting up a goal as he continues to develop away from Liverpool.
7 appearances, 0 goals, 2 assists.
Harvey Elliott: Valencia
The most high-profile player to leave Liverpool on loan this summer was Harvey Elliott, who moved to Spain with Valencia right at the end of the window.
Elliott did not grasp his chance for a second lease of life at Anfield, having returned to pre-season somewhat out of shape. His lack of action with Aston Villa last season appears to have taken its toll, and he is yet to find any kind of form with Valencia either.
He has so far made only three appearances for the Bats, all from the bench, all of which have ended in defeats.
3 appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists.
Ifeanyi Ndukwe: Levante
Joining Elliott in Valencia is Ifeanyi Ndukwe, who arrived at city neighbours Levante. Ndukwe was brilliant during pre-season, but with Liverpool unable to field him due to work permit issues, he headed away to Spain.
Levante took a while to play Ndukwe, but the 18-year-old centre-back has since made two appearances off the bench. That should be enough to see Ndukwe qualify for the right to work in the UK, and with Liverpool possibly hoping to see him play a little bit more, there is the potential for him to be recalled in January.
2 appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists.
Calvin Ramsay: St. Mirren
With Liverpool deciding not to sign a new right-back during the summer, there had been a feeling that Calvin Ramsay may be given his chance under Andoni Iraola.
Despite some decent showings in pre-season, that was never going to happen, though, and the 23-year-old headed back to Scotland with St. Mirren. So far, it has looked like being exactly what he has needed. Ramsay has already secured a starting spot, making five appearances so far, with St. Mirren sitting in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership.
5 appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists.
Calum Scanlon: Cardiff City
Calum Scanlon also looked good in pre-season, with Iraola occasionally using him as a left-sided forward.
The 21-year-old has had bad luck with injuries recently, and it was deemed best if he headed back to Cardiff, for whom he had a spell last season. He arrived back in Wales as a starter, but has since dropped out of the team, playing only 10 minutes across their last four matches.
7 appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists.
Armin Pecsi: Hartberg
It can be difficult to find good loan moves for young goalkeepers, with there needing to be a fine balance between getting playing time, but not throwing them in too deep at too high a level.
The Austrian league ticks the boxes, and it has been good to see Armin Pecsi become a starter with Hartberg. The 21-year-old is already their established No. 1 and has so far racked up eight appearances across all competitions. Hartberg have been leaking goals a little, but it’s all good experience for Pecsi.
8 appearances, 1 clean sheet, 13 conceded.
Amara Nallo: HJK
Amara Nallo made the unexpected choice to join Finnish club HJK, having been in and around the first-team set-up at Liverpool for the past two seasons.
The idea will be for Nallo to play regularly, but so far he has not especially done that. He has started three matches for HJK, including a Europa Conference League qualifying defeat against Motherwell, but being an unused substitute in three further matches does not paint a great picture of the 19-year-old’s stint so far.
3 appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists.
Keyrol Figueroa: Port Vale
After a good pre-season with the Liverpool U21s, Keyrol Figueroa joined League Two side Port Vale on transfer deadline day.
With not a lot of time to get his feet under the table, the Honduras international has made only one substitute appearance so far. There was better news on the international front, where Figueroa scored his first goal for Honduras against Jamaica at the end of September.
1 appearance, 0 goals, 0 assists.
Kyle Kelly: Forest Green Rovers
Like Figueroa, Kyle Kelly is already a full international, and in a coincidental mirroring of his U21s teammate, he also scored his first for his country during the current break.
Kelly scored against Cuba on October 2nd, and also has one goal to his name for National League side Forest Green this season. Having played in nine of their 11 matches so far – starting five – Kelly quickly became an important player under Robbie Savage, and may have been disappointed to see the Welsh manager leave for Peterborough last week.
9 appearances, 1 goal, 1 assist.
