Conor Bradley has been a long-term absentee for Liverpool because of a knee injury, but now a hugely positive update has emerged regarding his fitness.

The Northern Irishman was badly hurt away to Arsenal back in January during a Premier League clash at the Emirates, and he is still out nine months down the line.

Bradley was clearly devastated when the setback happened, no doubt knowing the severity of it, but he sent a bullish message to Liverpool fans on social media, saying:

“A big blow but surgery is done so the comeback starts now. It won’t be for a little while but I already can’t wait to get back playing for Liverpool FC and Northern Ireland. Thanks for all the support.”

But now, it looks as though Bradley’s long road to recovery is finally nearing its conclusion, with Rising Ballers taking to X to say that he could be back next month:

“Admin is so excited about this… Conor Bradley is set to return to action next month and reports are saying he’ll be given the time and space to make the right-back position his own once he’s back fit.

“Bradley has been out since January after suffering a knee injury against Arsenal… such a shame because he was absolutely smashing it before that… can’t wait to see him back balling out again. Hopefully he can stay fit and get a proper run of games because he’s such a baller.”

Conor Bradley’s return will be huge for Liverpool

Bradley is such a talented all-round right-back, combining dogged defensive work with attacking prowess, and having him back in the fold will feel significant for Liverpool.

Ronald Araujo is admittedly doing an excellent job, adding solidity to the Reds’ defence, but he is still a centre-back by trade, while Jeremie Frimpong has a lot to do to win over his doubters.

Bradley clearly needs to be handled with care, not being rushed back after such a lengthy absence, but if he returns the same player, Liverpool have a gem in their ranks who has been lauded by Chris Sutton in the past:

“We don’t want to go too early on Conor Bradley, but when someone comes into a team of Liverpool’s stature then of course there is always comparisons. The early signs are he looks sound defensively and then his goal was so impressive with his composure and how he found the far corner.

“He barely wasted a pass and looks like a really mature player. Physically he looks excellent and, like all the Liverpool players, he can really handle the ball.”

Bradley is still only 23, so he has time on his side, and the main hope now is that his knee problem hasn’t taken an edge off his game, as can cruelly be the case with some players.

Modern science should only help, however, with medical teams no doubt doing an expert job with him, and he will receive a great reception when he eventually returns to the Anfield turf again.
