Club football returns this weekend after the extended international break, and Everton fans are hoping the momentum of the good start to 2026/27 will continue into October.
The Toffees have put nine points on the board from their first five games, and recorded three clean sheets. It’s a start that many would have taken given how small the squad is.
The extended international break almost gives this a feel of the season starting afresh, but many Evertonians would like to hope that the players can pick up where they left off.
There are some Tricky games coming up for Everton, but supporters will hope to be Treated to some great performances this October – and with that, let’s take a look at how the club have done in this particular month in recent years.
Everton's next five games are TOUGH – how will we fare?
Give us your points haul prediction for the four league games, and tell us how that cup game is gonna go at the end of the month 🔮
Everton’s Premier League record for October in the last 10 seasons
October is always an interesting time of the season.
It is obviously still very early doors, but the opening weeks of the campaign have still provided many takeaways about the team under David Moyes.
But October is when the season starts to provide a better picture. And in recent years, this month has proven to be a bit of a testing month.
Last term, Everton won one game (vs Crystal Palace) but lost two (vs Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City). In 2024/25, Everton did fare better, going unbeaten. They drew against Newcastle United and Fulham, and beat Ipswich Town.
The 2023/24 season wasn’t too bad, with wins coming over Bournemouth and West Ham United, but losing the Merseyside Derby against Liverpool.
October in 2022/23 was chaotic to say the least. Everton won two games against Southampton and Crystal Palace, but lost to Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. They also drew with Fulham.
Season Everton’s W/D/L record in October
25/26 1-0-2
24/25 1-2-0
23/24 2-0-1
22/23 2-1-3
21/22 0-1-2
20/21 0-1-1
19/20 2-0-1
18/19 2-1-1
17/18 0-1-5
16/17 1-2-1
Everton didn’t win any games in October 2021 as the wheels began to fall off for Rafa Benitez. After a draw with Manchester United, Everton drew with West Ham United and were then thrashed by Watford 5-2.
Ultimately, it has been a mixed bag for Everton. But in the last three seasons, Everton have only lost a combined three matches in the month of October, which is as many as they lost in the whole month of October in the 2022/23 season.
What are Everton’s Premier League fixtures in October 2026?
Everton return to Premier League action this Sunday against Hull City at the MKM Stadium.
Then it’s Chelsea at home, Arsenal away, Newcastle in the Carabao Cup fourth round at home, followed by Newcastle away in the league.
That is undoubtedly a difficult run. Hull are the biggest opportunity for three points for Everton, but we have all seen how they have started the season and the Tigers will see this as a good opportunity themselves for three points.
But fans have at least seen an impressive solidity with Everton so far, so there is a good chance of keeping the unbeaten run going a little while longer yet, despite there being some top opposition on the horizon.
