It's claimed that Bayern Munich star Michael Olise has made a contract demand to the Bundesliga giants amid speculation connecting him with a potential switch to Liverpool.

‌

In doing so, developments regarding Olise's situation could deal a setback to his Bayern colleague — and former Liverpool player — Luis Diaz. The Reds have been loosely associated with a potential swoop for the France international previously, and such speculation has persisted even after the summer transfer window closed last month.

‌

Diaz departed Liverpool during the summer of 2025 to secure a permanent transfer to Bayern. Following Diaz's exit, Liverpool was linked with a new winger and entered the market this summer to secure Bradley Barcola's signature from Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite acquiring Barcola, speculation persists that Olise might be a prospective target for the Reds going forward, and fresh information has emerged concerning the former Crystal Palace star's prospects.

Spanish outlet Sport has reported that Olise has asked for a new clause to be included in a contract that Bayern is understood to be preparing.

Olise's existing agreement extends until the summer of 2029, and the publication suggests that the Bundesliga giants desire the extension to continue until 2032.

Nevertheless, the report indicates that Olise has requested the inclusion of a clause in the new contract, which would permit him to depart the German outfit under specific circumstances.

The latest news regarding Olise's future emerges following comments from Diaz, who departed Liverpool just over a year ago, in which he made abundantly clear that he had no desire to see his teammate leave the club.

‌

"First of all, it was important that we stayed together as a team," Diaz told Sky Germany.

"It would have been very difficult to lose a player like that... then perhaps a new player comes in, a lot of things change, and it takes time to adapt.

"But thankfully, we still have him here. He didn't leave, and he remains a very important player for us. He has incredible quality and is showing that in these games.

"And as a person, as I've already said, he's a very good guy; he talks a lot. Sometimes he may not want to talk much to the press, and I understand that because I don't like it either.

"I don't like talking about myself at all. But you're in the public eye and have to play along a little bit, that's part of our job. Internally, Michael talks in the dressing room and on the pitch.

"It's a mix of joking around and having a good team spirit. We get along very well."
