How bad do you have to be as an NFL franchise to get made fun of by The Weather Channel of all things? That’s a question that fans of the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans are unfortunately now made to ponder.
Both AFC South teams are 0-4 to start the season, but both arrive at that record under vastly different circumstances. The Titans are still in full rebuild mode with last year’s top overall pick Cam Ward at quarterback and Robert Saleh in his first season as head coach. While a 0-4 start might be disappointing, it’s not all that surprising.
On the other hand, the Texans are one of the most shocking stories in the NFL so far this season. Houston was one poor C.J. Stroud performance away from making it to the AFC Championship Game and maybe even the Super Bowl last season. With a lights-out defense, they were pegged as major contenders in the AFC before the season. But that has not materialized. Although it’s fair to say Houston’s schedule has been one of the toughest in the NFL thus far this season, their hopes of a playoff run are already on life support.
The good news is somebody has to win on Sunday when the two 0-4 teams face off against each other… unless it’s an overtime tie of course. And when an NFL meme account made a joke about flexing the game to The Weather Channel, it showed up in the replies with a brutal message.

Ouch.
Of course we all know that every network in creation would love to televise any NFL game, even if it was the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the 2017 Cleveland Browns. But The Weather Channel getting one over on these teams is not going to make them feel any better about their current predicaments.
For the record, the Titans-Texans matchup will indeed be on CBS at 1 p.m. ET this coming Sunday with Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta, and Aditi Kinkhabwala on the call. Thankfully for The Weather Channel, it is safe from televising any terrible NFL games… for now.
