Max Dowman is seen as the most promising talent in the Premier League right now, however one Chelsea star has been named alongside him in a list of the next stars of the league.

Blues fans have already seen plenty of their youngsters in action during the pre-season campaign, with Xabi Alonso keen to take a look at every player he had available to him.

Many of those have moved on loan this season, although Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli has stayed around, and has even been handed his debut for the first team in their last game against Brentford.

Chelsea needed this break BADLY… but with so many players racking up minutes for their countries, did it actually help them or could it have made things worse? 🤔

Let us know your reasoning! 👇

With regard to the defence, any decent team has a solid and regular one who mostly play week in, week out. I think it has to be Colwill and Lacroix and I would prefer Josh or Reece ahead of Fofana

Agreed. Reece is not a midfielder and is only playing the role to minimise injury risk. For me Lavia plays with Caicedo and I would play Barco ahead of Reece as the main cover

Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli named as one of Premier League’s next stars

This was as a result of continuing to impress in first team training, as well as injury problems to Moises Caicedo and Reece James that ruled them out of the West London derby.

Nicoll-Jazuli has been recognised beyond just Chelsea fans now, with The Guardian naming the midfielder as one of the most promising players in the Premier League. He was selected alongside the likes of Arsenal’s Dowman, and Liverpool’s Josh Abe, with him being Chelsea’s representative in the list.

Cole Palmer has been a huge advocate for Nicoll-Jazuli over the last few months, clearly forming a strong bond with him during the pre-season tour where they were both present.

He has not looked as if the step up to the first team setup has been too much for him, and alongside Reggie Watson will be ready to make their mark if required.

Chelsea are fearing Caicedo will not be fit enough to face Bournemouth at the weekend, leaving Alonso looking around for options to start in his absence.

There will no doubt be fears for Romeo Lavia’s fitness after he made four appearances during the international break, even though he impressed in outings against France in particular.

Ultimately though, another opportunity could come soon for Nicoll-Jazuli to make his next first team appearance, with him set for a bright future at Stamford Bridge.
