The international break is finally about to be over, and Liverpool fans can breathe a sigh of relief, but to what extent?
On the one hand, Liverpool are back in action this weekend when Manchester City come to Anfield for one of the most anticipated Premier League fixtures in recent history.
But has this international break come at a cost for Liverpool, with Jeremy Jacquet missing France’s 4-1 win over Belgium due to an injury?!
The positive for Andoni Iraola is that Milos Kerkez didn’t play for Hungary because he was suspended, so he has got some rest in him before he returns to Merseyside.

Mixed news on Milos Kerkez and Jeremy Jacquet
While Kerkez missed Hungary’s UEFA Nations League clash, serving a one-match suspension, they were still able to secure a crucial 2-1 win, with Dominik Szoboszlai playing around 87 minutes.
But Liverpool supporters, who already have injury worries with Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak, will now be fretting when it comes to Jacquet’s current situation.
According to the French Football Federation (FFF), the reason why the rising centre-back didn’t feature was because of ‘a strain to his left hamstring.’
A possible muscle injury during this hectic schedule is the last thing the Reds need because the games are seriously going to ramp up now.
Hopefully, it’s just a ‘strain’; if it remains that way, a few days’ rest leading up to the Man City game will do him the world of good because Jacquet has started like a house on fire.
Not just for his new club, but also for France, despite having some senior faces, such as Ibrahima Konate, seemingly in front of him.
