KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs are back to being the biggest attraction in the National Football League.

Days after the Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders, 30-27, in a battle of undefeated AFC West rivals, CBS Sports PR shared data regarding viewership for one of the biggest games of the NFL season thus far.

CBS Sports PR said the Chiefs-Raiders matchup saw 28.448 million viewers, making it the most-watched NFL game of the 2026 season and the best Week 4 game ever for any network. It came in the first-ever matchup between the Chiefs and Raiders with both teams at 3-0.

Earlier in the week, CBS assigned its lead broadcast crew, with play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz, analyst JJ Watt and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson to the game.

The top viewership number, according to Nielsen’s Big Data numbers, comes in a non-primetime game, despite the Chiefs playing on ‘Monday Night Football’ and ‘Sunday Night Football’ in Weeks 1 and 2 this season.

The Chiefs will also play in primetime four more times this season, and figure to play several games that will be broadcast to the vast majority of the nation in traditional broadcast windows.

Kansas City returns to action following the bye week in Week 6 with a 3:25 p.m. CT kickoff against the Los Angeles Chargers.
