Liverpool star Rio Ngumoha has seemingly made an impression on England boss Thomas Tuchel, after a moment between the pair on the sidelines during the Three Lions' match with Czechia on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old is continuing to progress through the ranks for both club and country, having shown himself capable of competing at the top level, but with some development still to come.
After a breakout campaign at Anfield last season, Ngumoha's first chance with the national team came back in the summer, when he was called up to a training camp before the World Cup to help make up the numbers in the absence of some players who were still needing some rest before the tournament. The winger was then a surprise debutant in a match against New Zealand, where he impressed on the right flank in a 45-minute cameo that certainly caught the eye.
Unfortunately for Ngumoha, he couldn't be called up to the full England squad for the World Cup, as the overall squad list was submitted and he wasn't involved in the pool of players that Tuchel opted for.
While there may have been some concern about a longer wait for his next opportunity, the head coach seemed impressed with what he saw from the Liverpool youngster in the short spell he had with the team, and he was given a call-up ahead of some high-profile names for England's three-week international break spanning September and October.
There was a slight setback when the 18-year-old wasn't named in the squad to face Spain, due to UEFA squad-size restrictions that forced at least one player to sit out. However, there have been two substitute opportunities in the two matches against Czechia, rounding off his international break with 36 minutes of action in total.
The second appearance against Czechia saw the Three Lions already 3-0 up when he was brought on, and an endearing moment on the sidelines between Tuchel and his recent recruit saw the manager give out a few big hugs, while trying to hype the youngster up for another opportunity to impress.

It perhaps best sums up Tuchel's opinion of the forward, having been so keen to get him in the squad for another opportunity to impress, before taking the time to really push him to succeed.
Ngumoha's spell on the pitch saw him given a few opportunities to drive at the Czechia defense, but he was unable to score what would've put him among the youngest-ever scorers for the England national team.
Getting those minutes was, perhaps, a fitting end to an otherwise quiet spell for the Liverpool star, who will return to the club with a little more experience under his belt at an early stage of his career.
There's plenty more to come in the weeks, months, and years ahead, with it all starting once again when the Reds host Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
It remains to be seen whether he will start such a huge clash, but it would be yet another sign of faith from another coach who clearly sees plenty in him for the present and the future.
