Liverpool has been tipped to make a move for Michael Olise in the near future, if the winger decides against renewing his contract at Bayern Munich.

‌

It follows long-term interest from the Reds in the winger, with the right flank being an area of particular interest for the Merseyside outfit after Mohamed Salah's exit in the summer.

While the club did attempt to find a replacement for that position, targeting the likes of Yan Diomande, Yankuba Minteh, and Ismaila Sarr, a move couldn't be completed before the window slammed shut. Andoni Iraola has looked to use the likes of Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz on that side as a result, though the duo appear much more comfortable on the left.

Having missed out on a right-winger, it remains to be seen whether it is a position that Liverpool will look to address in the market again in the near future.

One of the options who has been linked is Michael Olise, having been monitored by the Reds for some time, without ever making the switch to Anfield.

Recent links have emerged once again, as doubts continue over the France international's future at Bayern Munich, as the 24-year-old approaches the final two years of his contract in Bavaria.

Should the bold decision to leave be made by Olise, then former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown believes Liverpool will make a move. Speaking to Football Insider, he said: "There have been whispers recently that he [Olise] could leave Bayern Munich before too long, and obviously it's unlikely to happen in January, but it could be on the cards next summer.

"If Liverpool are given any indication that Olise could be available, I expect they will be all over it because he's somebody they've wanted for a long time."

It remains to be seen whether such a move would go through, however, with many different hurdles needing to be jumped over before Liverpool could seal a deal.

The chance to sign Olise would also raise questions about whether the Reds can afford to place their resources in one area, with the winger likely to cost a huge transfer fee, while there are several positions that need strengthening at the same time.

Considering the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Bradley Barcola all cost upwards of $150 million, a similar fee or more for the Bayern Munich man would certainly raise some eyebrows.

Until that possibility arises, there will be several transfer targets being eyed for the right flank, creating quite the interesting shortlist for Liverpool to assess before the transfer window reopens.
