The NFL does entertainment better than most leagues, and the Super Bowl 61 halftime show could become the latest example after Miley Cyrus teased a performance.
Legendary hip-hop artist Jay Z has been in charge of booking the league’s performers for years. Recent musicians included Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Usher and Rihanna.
Meanwhile, the next Super Bowl, set to be played in February 2027, may feature a Disney Channel legend. Cyrus took to social media on Tuesday to tease a potential musical performance when the NFL’s title game heads to SoFi Stadium early next year.
The 33-year-old is best known for her appearance on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana in the 2000s. She’s also delivered epic musical hits like “Party in the USA” and “Wrecking Ball.”

The daughter of country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus posted to Instagram this week with a clever caption, “Bowl rehearsals. See you soon.” This comes after Apple Music posted a silhouette on October 5 that many fans believed could be Cyrus.
However, Apple Music’s account deleted the post after fans started to bombard the comments section. Speculation became apparent that the NFL may have chosen the former child star to be their act.
Roger Goodell and the NFL are on an all-time run after Super Bowl 60 saw Bad Bunny break social media records at halftime. The Latin pop sensation drew over 128 million viewers, making it the fourth-best watched halftime program ever.
Cyrus is certainly a big enough name to bring in a major TV audience on top of whichever NFL teams take the field in Inglewood, California. The singer and songwriter is still unconfirmed for the Super Bowl, but it won’t be surprising if news breaks that she’s the pick.
