New York Giants Starter Announces He Will Miss Remainder of 2026 Season 1

The New York Giants have been able to survive a bevvy of injuries in the early stages of the season, holding a 3-1 record. They have some significant players, like quarterback Jaxson Dart and linebacker Brian Burns, who are ruled out for the remainder of the season already. This allows others to step up and test the team’s depth. However, there is another player who will miss the remainder of the season. Let’s take a closer look at who it is and what this means for the New York Giants going forward.

On Instagram, New York Giants wide receiver Braxton Berrios posted a birthday message. However, he also announced that he received the news that he will undergo season-ending surgery. Below is part of the comment he posted on his upload:

“Today also brought news that I need a surgery that’ll end my season. Two of my last three seasons ended this way and I’d by lying if I said I wasn’t miserable right now. I felt I belonged here this year and everything finally fell in place, now it feels like everything I’ve poured into the last 9 months is gone in the blink of an eye. The timing that I thought had arrived feels like a punishment again but the good news about God is I know it’s coming. Maybe not when we want but always on time. Time to rebuild. Pray for the Bear.”

Berrios has not been used in the offense, recording only one target thus far. However, he was used on special teams as a returner. He returned four punts for 10 yards and five kickoffs for 138 yards before suffering the injury. The New York Giants signed Berrios to the active roster following the release of Odell Beckham Jr.

The Giants replaced Berrios in Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals with Charlie Jones as the returner on special teams. It will be interesting to see if the New York Giants look to add another returner and what this injury means for Braxton Berrios’ future with the franchise.
