FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 7 October, including the latest updates on Gilberto Mora, JJ Gabriel and Igor Matanovic.
Mora bid lands
Liverpool have made a record-breaking bid of more than €40 million for Tijuana sensation Gilberto Mora, TUDN claims.
The Mexico international turns 18 next week and will be eligible to move to Europe in January. Mora is being chased by virtually every big club across the pond after emerging as one of the most exciting prospects in world football.
It is believed that Mexico manager Rafa Marquez did not play Mora against the United States at the weekend because he did not want to risk serious injury and jeopardise the negotiations.
Reports in Spain previously suggested that Mora's release clause is worth just €25m, which casts doubt on Liverpool's speculated offer. Tijuana confirmed that there is an exit mechanism in his contract when he signed a "historic" new deal ahead of the World Cup.
Gabriel snubs Chelsea

Wantaway Man Utd wonderkid JJ Gabriel has turned down a move to Chelsea, talkSPORT understands.
The 16-year-old has requested to be de-registered by Man Utd and is expected to leave England, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern and PSG among the clubs trying to sign him.
Sky Germany has reported that Gabriel is currently waiting to receive his Cypriot passport, not an Irish one as had been widely claimed. The outlet adds that agent Ali Barat held fresh talks with Bayern on Monday after a face-to-face meeting with the club in May.
New discussions with Barcelona and Real Madrid are also planned, and both are more inclined to meet the "exorbitant" financial demands of Gabriel's entourage than Bayern. A salary of more than €1m has been requested.
Matanovic in demand
SC Freiburg striker Igor Matanovic is being monitored by at least six Premier League clubs, TEAMtalk writes.
The Croatia international has been in red-hot form in 2026 and featured for his country at the World Cup, which attracted the interest of Man Utd and Tottenham in the summer.
More suitors, including Arsenal, are now emerging and discussing whether a move in 2027 could be feasible. Freiburg, though, are under no pressure to sell and could demand as much as €60m for the 23-year-old.
Miller attracting interest

The same outlet also asserts that Arsenal and Liverpool are closely following New England Revolution standout Peyton Miller.
The 18-year-old has been sensational for the Revs over the past two seasons and was recently rewarded with his senior USMNT debut. Miller initially started out as a left-back but has primarily played as a winger in 2026.
The teenager is part of a golden US generation and is attracting major interest from the Premier League. The Revs are relaxed about the situation after tying the versatile wide man down to a new long-term contract in July.
Arsenal return for Nusa
Arsenal are considering a January approach for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, as per CaughtOffside.
The Gunners are long-standing admirers of the Norway international and previously explored his signing, most recently in the summer just gone. He remains on their radar after they failed to sign a marquee left winger.
Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz is also still a key target for Arsenal, but there is an acceptance that prising him away from the Serie A giants will be incredibly difficult, particularly in January.
