Despite a busy summer, Liverpool will already have one eye on January and beyond in terms of transfer activity. The season resumes this weekend with the Reds welcoming Manchester City to Anfield.

Andoni Iraola will gain a clearer picture of what his squad are capable of when he locks horns with Enzo Maresca's side, who currently sit top of the Premier League. The fixture will most likely give the Basque manager an indication of which areas of the squad still require strengthening, despite the Reds bringing in six new signings ahead of the fresh campaign.

One player linked with Liverpool is Bayern Munich's Michael Olise, and today's news brings an intriguing development surrounding the French star. Meanwhile, the Reds have also reached a decision regarding the future of one of their young talents.

Michael Olise contract clause

Former Crystal Palace winger Olise has reportedly made a contract demand to Bayern, as speculation continues to link him with a move to Liverpool. The Reds were rumoured to be pursuing the winger this summer, however, they ultimately opted to bring in Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz out wide.

Spanish outlet Sport claims Olise has requested a new clause be inserted into a revised deal with Bayern, with the Bundesliga giants said to be willing to comply. The report suggests the Frenchman has demanded the clause, which would permit him to leave Bayern for another club under certain circumstances.

German publication BILD claim Bayern are growing increasingly concerned about the star's eagerness to sign a new extension, with the proposed release clause reportedly causing unease amongst some at the Bundesliga club. Olise's existing deal runs until the summer of 2029 and the outlet suggests that the Bavarians are keen to secure his services until 2032.

Liverpool transfer decision made

Liverpool youngster Amara Nallo has returned to Anfield following the termination of his loan spell at HJK Helsinki due to injury. The 19-year-old defender moved to the Finnish club in July until the conclusion of the Veikkausliiga season, which finishes in November.

Nallo is back on Merseyside to complete his rehabilitation after it became clear he would not regain fitness in time. The former West Ham United centre-back, who has made three senior appearances for Liverpool thus far, started three matches for HJK.

HJK confirmed in an official statement, which read: "Amara Nallo's loan spell at HJK has ended due to an injury. Nallo, who previously served as captain of Liverpool's U21 team, arrived at Klubi in July on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

"After receiving his work permit, the 19-year-old centre-back managed to play two Veikkausliiga matches in August, as well as an away game against Motherwell in the Conference League qualifiers.

"An injury kept Nallo on the sidelines for all of September, and he will not recover in time before the end of the Veikkausliiga season.

"The centre-back has already returned to Liverpool to rehabilitate his leg injury. Thank you for the visit, Amara!" Liverpool also confirmed Nallo's return, with the defender now set to undergo his recovery at the AXA Training Centre.
