Browns Predicted to Land New Quarterback of the Future 1
The Cleveland Browns have been searching for a long-term quarterback for many years. Unfortunately, every turn they have taken has ended the same way.
Heading into this season, Andrew Berry put together four quarterbacks on the roster. Deshaun Watson is the starter, Shedeur Sanders is his backup, and rookie Taylen Green is currently third on the depth chart. Dillon Gabriel has been on injured reserve, but is close to making his return to the field.
Many rumors have been swirling around the Browns about a potential quarterback trade. Green seems to be less likely to be moved than either Sanders or Gabriel.
Regardless of what Cleveland chooses to do before the trade deadline this year, the team’s long-term quarterback situation has not been figured out. Watson is not a long-term option. Sanders, Gabriel, and Green are all unproven commodities in the NFL.
With that being said, a new prediction has been made that would see the Browns bring in a new quarterback of the future during the 2027 NFL offseason.

Cleveland Browns Predicted to Make Move for New Quarterback
CBS Sports analyst Ryan Wilson has released a new 2027 NFL mock draft. He has Cleveland selecting Ohio State standout Julian Sayin with the No. 31 overall pick.
“While it’s tough to separate his success from the ‘Jeremiah Smith Experience’ making everyone around him better, that’s a much better problem to have than trying to talk yourself into a highly touted quarterback whose tape isn’t matching the preseason expectations,” Wilson wrote.
Sayin would be well-received by the Browns’ fan base. Many fans in Cleveland are also fans of the Buckeyes. Keeping him in the state of Ohio would be an intriguing option for Berry and company.
This season with Ohio State, Sayin has put up big numbers. He has completed 72.5 percent of his pass attempts for 1,530 yards, 13 touchdowns, and one interception. Sayin has also chipped in with two touchdowns on the ground.
Last year in his first season as a starting college quarterback, Sayin was a Heisman candidate. He threw for 3,610 yards, 32 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, while completing 77 percent of his passes.
On the outside looking in, Sayin appears to have legitimate star potential at the NFL level. No rookie quarterback is a sure thing, but the Browns would give themselves a good shot if they’re able to land the Buckeyes star.
