The Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus has been the latest addition to this FC Barcelona team, as he was signed in [a lightning-fast operation](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/gabriel-jesus-opens-up-on-sudden-move-from-arsenal-to-barcelona/) from Arsenal in the last few days of the summer transfer window.
So far, the former Arsenal and Manchester City forward has had quite a good time with the Blaugrana club, as he has already scored his first goal and is training well with Hansi Flick.
There is no doubt about his quality, as he has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe. However, one aspect of his career that raises some doubts is his physical problems, as he has suffered several long-term injuries.
But, as [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20261006/1004235372/gabriel-jesus-raphinha-merece-gol-sexta.html) has reported, Jesus appeared in an interview with the journalist Achraf ben Ayad, and assured that he has already gotten over his physical problems:
**“I had problems in the past, but in my final year I only had one injury, and after that there were no more problems. Sometimes it seems as though I am constantly injured, but that’s not the case. I had long-term injuries, which is different.”**
The Brazilian forward also opened up on what Barcelona means for him:
**“I’m at a fantastic team, at a huge club with a great history, where many Brazilian legends have played. Since I was a child, I used to watch Barça play in the Champions League. Brazilians always want to play here, and I’m in love with this club.”**
Jesus expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the team and the start to the new season:
**“I feel good, but that is because of the team we have and these teammates, because of the way they play… We are making a very good start, playing very well and scoring a lot of goals… Every team has to improve because nobody is perfect, but here we have players and a coach of great quality… Everyone has to improve because nobody is perfect, but here we have players and a coach of great quality.”**
The former Manchester City star was clear on who deserves this year’s Ballon d’Or:
**“For me, yes; it’s Lamine, because when you see the Ballon d’Or winner, it has to make your eyes light up… I don’t like talking about the Ballon d’Or because, since it is awarded based on opinions, it seems that if you don’t have it, you can’t be the better player… Lamine has been playing very well and winning trophies for more than two years now, which is why he is my favourite.”**
The Brazilian also recognized Raphinha’s good level, and assured that he will help him score even more goals:
**“Raphinha’s goals don’t surprise me. I know him, also from the national team, and I knew he was a very good finisher. He is enjoying his goals a lot, and I’m here to help him score more. We are very happy with him and his goals because he is a hugely important player for the team.”**
There is no doubt that Gabriel Jesus can prove to be a very important player for Barcelona this season, not only because of what he brings to the pitch, but also because of his experience. Hopefully, Hansi Flick will take full advantage of his presence, and the player himself will be able to remain fit for the entirety of the season.
