Julian Alvarez dominated Arsenal’s transfer news throughout the summer.
The Atletico Madrid superstar was heavily linked with a move away from the Metropolitano, but his dream move to Barcelona was publicly blocked by Diego Simeone’s side.
Arsenal were keen to sign Alvarez, but he never opened the door to the Gunners. He ended up staying at Atleti in the end, but we’re sure his future will be up for debate in the two transfer windows of 2027.
That’s because Alvarez is closing in on a new agent.

Javier Pastore’s agency is closing in on signing Julian Alvarez as a client
Atletico Madrid’s relationship with Julian Alvarez’s current agent, Fernando Hidalgo, deteriorated in the summer due to his transfer saga.
Fast forward a couple of months and it looks like the Argentine is considering parting ways with him as well.
Edu Burgos of AS has revealed that Alvarez and Hidalgo could go their separate ways in the coming months, with the former already looking for new representation.
The journalist has claimed that Alvarez’s father is the one holding talks with agencies, and he has been in conversation with a few of them recently.
However, as things stand, The Elegant Game agency, led by former PSG star Javier Pastore, is said to be leading the race to sign Alvarez as their new client.
Pastore already has one huge Argentinian client in Enzo Fernandez, who is the only player in history to have secured two transfers for fees exceeding £100 million each time.
Alvarez is arguably more valuable than the Manchester City midfielder, and we won’t be surprised at all if he gets a huge move in 2027.
Whether Pastore will be the one negotiating a potential move remains to be seen.
Gabriel Heinze and Javier Pastore are former teammates
Gabriel Heinze has become one of the most important people in Arsenal’s coaching staff.
The Argentine has had a big impact on the Gunners’ defence and can be seen talking to the defenders in a huddle before every single game.
Heinze, who is Argentinian too, must already have had some sort of contact with Alvarez during the summer. Now, if Pastore becomes the latter’s agent, that could benefit Arsenal.
That’s because Heinze and Pastore played together for the Argentine national team over a decade ago, and we won’t be surprised at all if they still maintain a good relationship.
If they do, Arsenal’s chances of signing Alvarez may slightly improve in 2027.
