Arsenal have now emerged as very strong contenders to sign an attacking midfielder, although there could be competition from some of Europe's top clubs.
With the international break coming to an end, the Gunners have started making moves in the transfer market, although Theo Walcott believes Mikel Arteta's squad already contains enough quality to win the Premier League title.

Walcott said: "I think they are exceptional and I do feel they've got everything to retain it. But it's not going to be easy, because they'll want to win the Champions League."
It has been a solid start to the campaign, with the north Londoners winning four of their opening five matches, which leaves them three points behind league leaders Manchester City, who were recently found guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of Premier League financial rules.
However, a 3-0 defeat at Brighton prior to the international break was far from the ideal way to sign off before the international break, and potential January reinforcements have since been identified, with signing a new attacker of particular interest.

Alongside a new striker and left-winger, the Gunners are also planning to sign a new attacking midfielder, and an approach has now been made for Club Tijuana star Gilberto Mora.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, which states Arsenal have now made shock contact regarding a deal for Mora, with the 2025-26 Premier League champions emerging as very strong contenders to win the race for his signature.
However, a whole host of rival Premier League clubs are also keen on signing the starlet, who made a name for himself at the World Cup, while Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in the race, so there could be widespread competition.
Reportedly valued at around £37m according to other reports, the 17-year-old featured in four of Mexico's five World Cup matches, while he has also been a key player for Club Tijuana, picking up five goals and one assist in seven Liga MX Apertura matches this season, which suggests he could now be ready to test himself in Europe.
Scout Ben Mattinson is a huge admirer of the teenager too, singling him out for very high praise on X last February.
As such, Mora could be an excellent long-term addition to Arteta's squad, but his lack of experience in a major league means he may take some time to get going at a club the size of Arsenal.
