Father says his Arsenal wonderkid son has an'extraordinary'left foot just like Hakim Ziyech

Arsenal have a number of incredible players coming through.

The Gunners’ academy is one of the best in the business, and it has helped the senior side save millions on the transfer market over the last few years.

Mikel Arteta will continue to rely on Hale End to keep producing talent like Bukayo Saka, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Max Dowman, and we can’t wait to see who the next big thing could be.

Young Demiane Agustien’s dad hopes his son could be that player.

Demiane Agustien’s father says his son has a left foot like Hakim Ziyech

Agustien has been at Arsenal since the summer of 2025.

The 19-year-old is an attacking midfielder by trade, and he has played regularly for the U19s and the U21s over the last year. He is viewed as a big talent.

Agustien’s dad, Kemy, was a professional footballer back in the day. He played for clubs like AZ Alkmaar, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Brighton in a career spanning over two decades.

Now, speaking about his son Demiane, Kemy has high hopes and has claimed that his son has a left foot very reminiscent of former Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech.

He said, as per Ajax1.nl: “His left foot is actually extraordinary. You can compare him a bit to Hakim Ziyech: his left foot is really good. You know, when he has the ball on his left foot, he can place it and shoot exactly where he wants it. I think Demiane has a similar quality right now.”

That is huge praise, as Ziyech really did have a wand of a left foot. If Agustien can even be half as good as the Moroccan was in his prime, he will have a fine career.

However, the teenager may have to leave Arsenal to fulfil his ambitions.

Demiane Agustien’s future could be away from Arsenal

“At some point, he really needs to start playing men’s football,” Kemy said about his son. “He definitely needs to make a splash this year, develop his game, and then the next step will come naturally.”

So far, Agustien has played 29 times for Arsenal’s youth teams and has scored just five goals. He is yet to register an assist despite playing most of his games as an attacking midfielder.

That makes it very difficult for the youngster to break into Mikel Arteta’s first team, not just because of the quality there but also the competition coming through from the academy.

Max Dowman is a part of the first team, Ethan Nwaneri is still owned by the club, and a player like Luis Munoz is coming through the ranks with a lot of hype. That’s besides skipper Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze, who are already key figures in the senior side.

For that reason, we won’t be surprised at all if Agustien has to move on to fulfil his potential in the near future.
