17-year-old Frenchman William Mirwasser has been at Finch Farm ahead of a potential transfer to Everton, but who is he? Here is what you need to know about the Paris born defender.
Everton are in the running to sign William Mirwasser according to L’Equipe, rivalling Blackburn Rovers, with the 17-year-old visiting the facilities of both clubs along with unnamed others.
Mirwasser has been playing for Hong Kong FC in the top flight of Hong Kong football since he was 16, but has been denied a transfer until he turns 18 in August 2027. In advance of getting the green light, Mirwasser is doing ground work to plan his next move, which took him to Finch Farm.
The report indicates that a move to Europe is his priority and France would be his preferred destination and he is expected to be visiting RC Strasbourg and Lecce next month before making his decision.
So here is everything you need to know about the teenager.

Who is Everton target William Mirwasser?
William Mirwasser is a 17-year-old right-back who currently is playing professional football in Hong Kong for Hong Kong FC.
Despite this, Mirwasser started his footballing career at FC Issy in Issy-les-Moulineaux, on the outskirts of Paris, France where he called home having been born there.
Mirwasser moved to Hong Kong at the age of 15, when his father who was a businessman was offered a job on the other side of the world. Settling in was tough for Mirwasser, but as he told L’Equipe earlier this year, the factor of having a French coach helped him settle.
“The first year, I didn’t speak much English (one of the two official languages of the region) so it was a little complicated. But I was in a French school, so I had friends. And above all, I had a French coach.”
This was Gilles Meyer who is based in Hong Kong, while he also had a French teammate at Hong Kong FC in the form of Enzo Dietrich who praised his young teammate.
“He is a very good player. He has great potential, especially given his age, he is very young, he is already strong and fast, he has good control. He can clearly aim higher. He can play in good centers in France.”
Such a drastic life change didn’t set Mirwasser back as before he left, he had tried out with Paris FC and Reims, but now targets a return to Europe to finish what he started. Although his dream is a return to France, which limits Everton’s chances.
This is a story worth keeping an eye on, but we won’t be finding out where his future lies anytime soon.
