Consensus Eduardo Conceicao could be a ‘bigger prospect’ than Estevao Willian

According to CaughtOffside, there is a consensus among scouts at Europe’s top clubs that Eduardo Conceicao may be an even “bigger prospect” than Estevao. That means a potentially very high transfer fee for the Palmeiras youngster.

The same outlet claims that figures at the Brazilian club are already getting excited about a potential €100m (£84.6m) deal, though he is expected to go for much less. There is a scenario where Chelsea could have both Conceicao and Estevao.

CaughtOffside’s report says the Blues are intensifying their pursuit of Conceicao and have already contacted Palmeiras. Chelsea fans are unlikely to say no to such a talent, but they will want the club’s priority in the new year to be a new midfielder, especially if Moises Caicedo continues to struggle with injuries.

Caicedo is Chelsea’s best midfielder and responsible for protecting the defence but has only played one game this season. There is no real alternative to the Ecuadorian in Xabi Alonso’s squad, but that could change in January.

Lamine Camara is still on Chelsea’s shortlist despite what went down with AS Monaco in the final hours of deadline day. Camara’s profile is similar to Caicedo’s, which is what Chelsea could really do with right now.
