Drake Maye isn't afraid of the things that go bump in the night.

The Patriots signal-caller returned to prominence in Week 4, reasserting his status as one of the league's top young passers. Days later, he traipsed across newspaper clippings for another reason — one that has to do with his cynicism regarding one of the U.S. government's favorite "discoveries."

With that, here's what you need to know about what Maye thinks about the moon landing.

Does Drake Maye Believe Moon Landing Conspiracy Theory?

Maye, who captured AFC Player of the Week honors for his three-touchdown outing against the Bills, said he had his doubts that one alleged marvel in astronautics really went down. Appearing on WEEI on Monday, Maye expressed skepticism about the idea that the United States landed on the moon.

“I don’t know about the moon, you know. I think I can see back in the day why we would put on the mask if we went there, but I’m not really sure 200% if we went there or not,” Maye said. “I wouldn’t say I’m leaning one way or the other. I just know I’m a little bit skeptical.”

Maye offered insight into his history with conspiracy theories, revealing that he actually once took a class about the subject at North Carolina.

“They studied Hitler being alive and ‘Are birds real?’ some of the classic ones that you hear about,” Maye said.

Maye is far from the first quarterback to engage with the topic of conspiracies. Here's hoping that he's able to traipse around the topic a little more gracefully than Steelers hurler Aaron Rodgers.
