Mikel Arteta's promise to Arsenal fans after signing new long-term contract image
After triumphantly securing last year's Premier League title, alongside an appearance in the Champions League final, Arsenal are hoping to go above and beyond in the 2026/27 season, pushing to new heights as they aim to win more trophies and increase the stature of the already-great English club.
Part of their recent rise to prominence has been the stellar leadership of manager Mikel Arteta, who has been rewarded for his successes with a new contract.
Since joining the Gunners in 2019, Arteta has brought the London club new heights, securing their first Premier League crown since 2004 and coming a penalty shootout away from their first-ever European title.
Now, he hopes those successes will be not a flash in the pan, but a doorway towards yearly dominance that sees the Gunners become one of Europe's most dominant forces.

What did Mikel Arteta say after signing new Arsenal contract?
The new Arsenal boss conveyed excitement for the future as he put pen to paper on a new long-term contract, expressing that he believes many more lifelong memories are yet to be made as they continue working together into the coming season and beyond.
In the team's official release, Arteta made it clear that he was far from done after last year's Premier League title.
"It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal,’ Arteta said.
"This club is unique, its character and the way it makes you feel, and I have a great sense of privilege that our journey together will continue.
"We have already built a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime, and what is so exciting is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together.
"I’m extremely grateful to Stan and Josh for their trust and support, and feel honoured to be leading this club through such a special period in its 140-year history."
The club, meanwhile, shared Arteta's sentiment that Arteta has not only earned this new faith on past successes alone, but also on the promise of future triumphs.
"The new agreement reflects our shared belief that the progress we’ve made and last season’s success is the beginning of a special period in our history," Arsenal said in a statement.
"Mikel became our seventh title-winning manager last season as we were crowned champions for the 14th time. It was our fourth Premier League title and our first in 22 years.
"Together, we remain focused on building on that success, competing for major trophies in a sustainable way and continuing to strengthen the deep bond between the club and our supporters."

Mikel Arteta contract, salary after signing new deal
Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract through the summer of 2030, tying him to the club for another four years.
We do not know the terms of his new deal, but according to multiple reports, including the BBC, Arteta's new compensation includes "an increase" on his previous salary of £10 million per year plus an additional £5 million in bonuses, which makes him one of the highest-paid managers in the world.
Another key note from the new contract is that Arteta has been referred to as "manager" of Arsenal, whereas in his previous deal he was only named "head coach." This is a significant upgrade from his previous deal, even if in just wording alone, as it comes with great significance and increased responsibility as leader of more than just the first-team squad.
