Crosby, who has recorded 6.5 career sacks and 49 quarterback pressures against Mahomes across their regular-season meetings, described facing Mahomes. He revealed that he had a tough, physical battle with the quarterback, “It started early. We were very close to each other, physically, out of the gate. Got some good hits on him.” He then added, “It’s just funny every time I hit him, he rolls over and then he just peeks at me just to see – and I’m always just staring at him. He took some… I had a couple hard licks on him today [Sunday].”
Roback then asked whether Mahomes makes noise when tackled. Crosby replied, “I don’t know,” before imitating an “Ugh!” sound that resembled a moan. When Roback suggested calling it a whine and urged him not to use the word “moan,” Crosby responded, “There’s no other word! But yeah,” while laughing.
The video has since gone viral, with many talking about the hilarious exchange. Mahomes has not yet responded to Crosby’s comments. The edge rusher also talked further about the quarterback.
Maxx Crosby speaks on respect for Patrick Mahomes
Crosby also talked about his respect and admiration for Mahomes. He said, “It’s respect, bro. Like he’s the best quarterback of our generation, you know what I mean? And for me, I want to be looked at as the best at my position. When you have two division rivals willing to go to the farthest extent to win, it makes for great entertainment and great competition.”
Both players share a healthy rivalry and communication. After both of them managed to recover from their injuries in time for the season, Mahomes revealed what Crosby sent him. He said, “He messaged me as soon as I was cleared to play again. He just said: ‘We’re both back.’ I told him: ‘Let’s show the world who we are.'”
Both players will now focus on their respective teams’ next games.
