FPL Report: Scout’s Everton Picks For Gameweek Six

Everton have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using its expertise to provide advice and gameweek tips which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues.

Everton Picks

Everton recorded their third clean sheet of the season in gameweek five. The Toffees have kept the joint-most clean sheets in the Premier League this season and as a result, their defenders have made for excellent picks in FPL.

James Tarkowski (£6.2m) is the top FPL points scoring defender in the game with 43 points. In gameweek five, only one defender in the game, Coventry’s Jay Dasilva (£4.0m), registered more than Tarkowski’s 14 points.

Tarkowski registered an assist, the clean sheet, three bonus points as well as two Defensive Contribution points.

Defenders in FPL can register two additional Defensive Contribution points each match for making 10 or more defensive actions (clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles won) in a match.

Tarkowski registered 12 defensive actions meaning that he registered the additional two points for the third time this season.

Jarrad Branthwaite (£5.5m), Ainsley Maitland-Niles (£4.5m) and Jordan Pickford (£.5m) all registered eight points in gameweek five. All three registered two appearance points and four clean sheet points.

Branthwaite also registered two Defensive Contribution points having made 14 defensive actions in the game, whilst Maitland-Niles returned two bonus points.

Pickford’s additional two points came from a save point for making four saves and a bonus points. Vitali Mykolenko (£4.6m) also returned five points.

Forward Thierno Barry (£5.7m) also returned six points in gameweek five courtesy of his goal.

Player Spotlight: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£6.6m)

Dewsbury-Hall registered a goal in gameweek one and has been unlucky not to add to that over the following four matches.

The midfielder has had a team leading 18 shots in the league so far this season, with 11 coming from inside the box and two defined as OPTA big chances.

He has also created a team leading 11 chances and supplied 21 crosses which is again the most across the Everton squad.

Dewsbury-Hall has had an impressive 164 touches in the final third, 86 more than the next most in the Toffees squad.

He has also been unlucky not to register Defensive Contribution points already this season. Midfielders need to register 12 defensive actions (the same metrics as the defenders but with the added action of ball recoveries) to return the additional points.

Dewsbury-Hall registered 10 defensive actions in gameweek two and 11 in three, just shy of the threshold. However, his hard work is likely to be rewarded in this route to points over the course of the rest of the season.
