D'Andre Swift
D'Andre Swift
D’Andre Swift has been the Chicago Bears unquestioned workhorse running back through the first four weeks of the season, and he left Week 4 seemingly healthy. A second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Georgia product began his career with the Detroit Lions but recorded his first 1,000-yard season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023. After making the Pro Bowl, the running back turned that successful season into a long-term contract with Chicago, and he’s been the team’s starter for the past three seasons.
So far this season, D’Andre Swift has recorded 311 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 69 attempts while adding another 10 receptions for 84 yards through the air. While he hasn’t set the world on fire, he’s been a solid starter for Chicago. However, he battled a knee injury in practice last week, and the ailment appears to have following him into Week 5. According to the team’s official practice report, Swift missed Wednesday’s practice with hip and knee injuries.

D’Andre Swift Injury Update: Bears RB (Hip/Knee) Misses Practice
The Last Word
Only time will tell if D’Andre Swift plays on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. If he cannot play, the Bears could be in trouble. While backup running back Kyle Monangai is normally capable, he also missed Wednesday’s practice with thumb and toe injuries. Depending on what happens throughout the week, there’s a chance Chicago will be without their top two backs.
The Chicago Bears will face off against the Green Bay Packers in Week 5, with or without D’Andre Swift. While the team is 2-2, it’s been a surprisingly disappointing season for Green Bay. Both of their losses have come in blowout fashion, while both of their wins have come in close fashion against underwhelming opponents. Still, they’re only two games behind the 4-0 Minnesota Vikings in the division, and they haven’t looked nearly as good as their record would suggest. This game could have massive playoff implications at the end of the season.
