The sporting directors have often been abused by Chelsea fans for underwhelming signings, with Paul Winstanley also in the crosshairs of frustrated supporters.
It would be thought that one of those criticised figures leaving the club would bring more positivity to the fanbase, however Chelsea fans on TalkingPoints were not optimistic as to where the club are going.
This user believes the damage has already been done, and Chelsea’s time as a top side is over due to their obsession with making money via player trading.
Another commented on how the role does not look attractive for anyone looking to come in to join the footballing department, or even step up from another role.
Joe Shields has been tipped to have a more prominent role in signing players, with him the one who played a key role in bringing Cole Palmer to the club from Manchester City.
Ultimately though, supporters are worried that there are still figures at the club who need to move on before they can get back to the heights they were previously at.
While the name is not specifically mentioned, this is almost certainly in regards to Behdad Eghbali, who has outlasted Todd Boehly as owner of the club.
Boehly made a significant profit on his shares of Chelsea, as changes continue to occur at the top of the chain at Stamford Bridge.
The hopes in the short term will be that there is not a drastic influence on what happens on the pitch, with the Blues looking to put an end to their three game streak without a win. They will host Bournemouth on Saturday.
