What do Arsenal fans need to know about the player?
Cambiaso started his career at Genoa, but he made his senior debut whilst out on loan at Serie D side ASD Albissola 2010, who he helped to promotion to Serie C in 2018.
The defender was also sent out on a temporary basis to Savona, Alessandria and Empoli before eventually breaking into Genoa’s first team during the 2021/22 season.
Cambiaso’s performances in that campaign were enough to get him a move to Juventus, who paid €15.5m for his services in July 2022. However, he was immediately sent out on loan to Bologna for 12 months.
On his return to Turin in the summer of 2023, he became part of Juve’s first-team setup, and he has now started his fourth season as a first-team regular. He has attracted the attention of other Premier League clubs during that time, with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and (most significantly) Manchester City having shown interest in signing him.
Cambiaso could replace White
While the 26-year-old has predominantly played on the left-hand side of defence over the past few years, he can also be deployed at right-back due to being two-footed.
Ben White will have a year left on his contract at the end of the season, and while there is an option to extend his stay for another twelve months, the Gunners may be tempted to sell him instead.
The 29-year-old has been plagued by injury problems over the past few seasons, with his latest setback coming against Sunderland last month.
