Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak are major doubts for Liverpool's visit from Manchester City after appearing to miss training. Jeremy Jacquet, however, was able to take part in the session, giving Andoni Iraola a huge defensive boost ahead of the match this weekend.
Iraola's unbeaten Reds return to action after three weeks when they welcome Premier League leaders Manchester City to Anfield for the first game since the Etihad outfit were found guilty by an independent commission of the majority of the 115 financial charges against them.
Both Gakpo and Isak were forced to cut their international breaks short after suffering ankle and thigh issue respectively and Iraola confirmed earlier this week that both forwards were facing a race against time to be fit.

Gakpo was hurt in a challenge by Ipswich Town's Sasa Lukic during Netherlands' 2-1 win in Serbia, while Isak, who also scored and suffered a toe issue in Sweden's victory over Romania, was withdrawn and sent back to Merseyside with what manager Graham Potter described as a small issue.
Both players missed Thursday's session at the AXA Training Centre, casting uncertainty over their involvement in the potentially explosive contest with Enzo Maresca's City on Sunday afternoon.
“I think Alex Isak and Cody Gakpo both have had to leave the national teams with injuries,” Iraola told beIN SPORTS earlier this week.
“Now it's a matter of if they are going to recover in time to help us in the next game or not. But right now they are both injured.”
The pair have been in good for under Iraola with six goals and five assists between them and their absence would represent a major blow for the new Reds boss as he aims to inflict a first defeat of the campaign on City, who have appealed their guilty verdict.
Iraola is due to speak to the media from 1.30pm on Friday afternoon to offer a more accurate update on the influential forwards.
Jacquet suffered a minor hamstring issue on duty for France and played no part in Monday's 4-1 win over Belgium having previously impressed in back-to-back games for Zinedine Zidane's side.
But the £60m defender took part in the gym session earlier in the afternoon before heading out with the rest of his colleagues on to the pitches as normal.
