Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton is entering the new season with a noticeably different physique following his lengthy recovery from a torn Achilles.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Haliburton revealed that he currently weighs 25 pounds more than he did in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.
The Pacers guard said he added significant muscle during his rehabilitation and plans to play the entire season at around 200 pounds.
The 26-year-old guard is currently officially listed at 185 pounds.
Tyrese Haliburton returns for first time since 2025 NBA Finals Game 7
Tyrese Haliburton returned to the hardwood after 472 days last night for the first time since tearing his Achilles in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. His comeback came in a special setting, as he played against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Hilton Coliseum, home of his alma mater, Iowa State University.
To celebrate his return, Haliburton personally bought out the entire student section tickets so Iowa State students could attend the game for free.
He played 16 minutes, contributing seven points and six assists to help lead the Pacers to a 123-112 preseason victory over Minnesota.
In the end, despite the challenging and grinding process he had to deal with, Haliburton is thankful for the newfound realizations he attained while recovering off the court.
"I think my perspective on life and on basketball has changed a lot through this injury," Haliburton stated after the game. "I think that's the biggest thing is."
"It's been easier for me to take a step back and be like, just appreciate the little things right now. And so that's what I'm doing, just appreciating all the things that come with this, the good and the bad, and continuing to learn, and it's been fun."
