The New York Giants lifted themselves to 3-1 despite losing franchise quarterback Jaxson Dart for the season. Yet the franchise received two welcoming NFL Injury news Thursday before facing the Washington Commanders. This one involving Malik Nabers and Andrew Thomas.

Giants insider for ESPN Jordan Raanan dropped the big update there regarding both.

“Malik Nabers and Andrew Thomas were upgraded Thursday to limited participants in practice,” Raanan posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

So Nabers dealt with a knee issue that limited him during practice week. The left tackle Thomas had a groin issue. But it appears both will be ready to go.

Nabers caught 18 passes so far this season, racking up 208 yards and scoring one touchdown. He's averaging 11.6 yards per catch. But he's fresh off putting together his best outing of 2026: Grabbing seven passes for 112 yards and scoring one touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals. He later watched the Giants seal the 36-24 home win through a walk-off pick six touchdown.

Nabers needed to build a rapport with backup quarterback Jameis Winston to put together his epic Sunday. And sure enough he and Winston formed immediate chemistry as Dart rests with a torn ACL. Now the Giants have added former first round selection JJ McCarthy as the backup insurance if Winston were to go down with an injury.

Thomas, meanwhile, is aiming to get back onto the field and help form the wall of protection for coach John Harbaugh's quarterbacks. New York now earns a chance to improve to 4-1 overall amid this fast start under Harbaugh.
