Iraola doesn't rate him: Liverpool must put £120,000-a-week star up for sale immediately [view]

Liverpool could be one of the busiest Premier League clubs in terms of incoming transfers in 2027, with a few different positions appearing to potentially need reinforcing.

What is already clear is that Liverpool will be looking to bring in a new central midfielder following the summer exit of Curtis Jones, with GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs already confirming that the club has made contact with Monaco star Lamine Camara to inform him he is high in their thinking for 2027.

The Reds also hold an interest in Bournemouth and England star Alex Scott, along with the majority of their top six Premier League rivals, and AS Roma's Manu Kone, according to Jacobs.

Elsewhere, the Merseyside outfit attempted to bring in a new right-sided winger at the end of the summer transfer window and were linked with moves for Ismaila Sarr of Crystal Palace and Yankuba Minteh of Brighton and Hove Albion, but they were unable to agree a deal to bring either player to Anfield.

Liverpool could be forced into making two huge signings next summer with the contracts of key duo Alisson and Virgil van Dijk set to expire then, and no progress yet on an extension for either player.

There are also some lingering doubts over both full-back positions too, and unless Conor Bradley returns from injury and makes the spot his own, a new right-back is likely to be required next year. Potentially, they might need a player for the opposite flank unless Milos Kerkez is trusted to be the consistent first-choice options on the left.

The Reds already have a decent-sized squad, but if they are potentially adding up to another handful of players in 2027, it is inevitable that some players will be on their way too, beyond the out-of-contract players.

One player who appears to be out of favour already under Iraola is Italian forward Federico Chiesa, and Liverpool chiefs need to finally get him off of their books in 2027, and ideally in January.

Chiesa joined Liverpool in the summer of 2024 for what was viewed as a bargain fee of £10m, on a £120,000-a-week deal, with a lot of anticipation from the Anfield faithful, given his successes in Italy with Juventus.

The attacker was actually Arne Slot's second official signing as manager, after the club had already agreed a deal for Giorgi Mamardashvili, but from the very first moment things just haven't worked out for the 28-year-old on Merseyside.

He missed a lot of football in the opening months of his Liverpool career through injury, and he's never really bounced back from that and become a consistently important player for the club.

To only make nine starts out of 50 total appearances is testament to that, and he is being plagued by injury issues again this term, meaning he is yet to play a single minute.

His attitude can't be faulted, given he decided to stay at Anfield in the summer and fight for his place despite interest from some big clubs in his homeland, but it's hard to see how it will work out for him in a red shirt now.

Even though he could be back available for Iraola as soon as this Sunday's clash against Manchester City, Chiesa has already been left out of the club's Champions League squad for the next months, meaning he will get no game time in that competition.

That is clearly a blow for Chiesa if he is available now, given Liverpool have only played one Champions League match so far, meaning he would be ready for all of their other group games.

You would think that if Iraola really rated him and knew his injury wasn't long-term, he would have taken a chance on him in the Champions League squad.

Iraola deserves kudos for being willing to fight for his Liverpool career but, if he is being honest, the writing is clearly on the wall for him and the club need to put him up for sale immediately ahead of the January transfer window.
