The Premier League is back this weekend with the extended international break over. Chelsea return to action on Saturday (3pm) as they take on Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
Xabi Alonso would have been given extra time to work with the players who remained at Cobham throughout the break, but it has been a quick turnaround for some of those returning from international duties. The last few days would have seen preparations for the match step up.
The break also gave some injured players extra time to complete their recoveries from any little niggles or injuries. It has also provided a couple of injury worries for Alonso and his backroom staff.

"Any team missing a player of his quality, his dynamic, we have missed him for sure. We are happy he is back, and he feels better. We didn't want to take risks for Brentford, for example. He feels much better."
