'Very comfortable': Mikel Arteta already knows his left winger vs Leeds after Christos Tzolis…

Arsenal host Leeds United in Saturday’s early Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners suffered a humiliating 3-0 league defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on the road prior to the extended international break.

It was the worst possible result before the interval, and manager Mikel Arteta will want a strong response from his side against Leeds.

Ahead of the game, Christos Tzolis is a guaranteed absentee after he picked up a hamstring injury on Nations League duty with Greece.

Arteta confirmed in his pre-match presser that the 24-year-old could be out for a ‘few weeks‘ after the untimely setback this month.

This has left a void on the left wing, given Tzolis has started every league match this campaign.

In our opinion, Arteta already knows his immediate solution based on his comments in the lead-up to the Brighton game last month.

The Spaniard said that Eberechi Eze is ‘very comfortable‘ as a left winger and has had the biggest moments of his career playing there.

That was a huge vote of confidence from the manager, and it appears to be a no-brainer for Eze to start on the left side of the attack tomorrow.

Eze has already started in the position in the Carabao Cup and Champions League this term, and recently did so for England against Czechia.

There are no doubts about Eze’s technical ability, but his limited mobility and languid style as a wide player have raised some concerns.

Ideally, we would want to see more intensity from him as a wide player, and hopefully we will get that against Leeds at home tomorrow.

Eze has the perfect opportunity to cement the position in Tzolis’ absence, but he can’t take it for granted.

Arsenal don’t have any specialists on the left wing other than Tzolis, but Noni Madueke could be tested in the role in the coming weeks too.

If Eze struggles to impress, Madueke will surely be waiting on the wings to capitalise.
