The Philadelphia Eagles‘ injury woes have gone from bad to worse, but this time it involves star running back Saquon Barkley.
The veteran RB exited early in Philly’s Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams with a hamstring injury. However, it appears the setback is severe enough to prevent him from playing this weekend.
Philadelphia’s ruling out Barkley for Sunday morning’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. The NFL heads back to London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which hosted the Indianapolis Colts’ win over the Washington Commanders last weekend.
The Eagles now face a massive challenge at the RB spot with its top two players at the position sidelined. Barkley isn’t the only Philly player battling injury after Tank Bigsby was already placed on IR.

Head coach Nick Sirianni and OC Sean Mannion are now forced to rely more on quarterback Jalen Hurts. However, the passing attack is also facing its own challenges entering Week 5.
Devonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are both ruled out for the Jaguars game as well. That leaves the NFC East team with very few receiving threats outside of Dallas Goedert and rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon.
How will Eagles adjust with Saquon?

Philly’s running back situation isn’t pretty with its former All-Pro on the bench. Will Shipley and recently-promoted Dameon Pierce are the only healthy options left on the roster for the London game.

Meanwhile, Barkley’s injury also presents massive fantasy football implications for his owners. This season, the Eagles RB has struggled to get a lot going on the ground, but he’s still a regular start for many fantasy players.
The Eagles and Jaguars will meet on Sunday, Oct. 11 from London at 9:30 a.m. ET on NFL Network.
