Walker Kessler shares critical finger injury update for Lakers

Walker Kessler claimed there is nothing to worry about regarding his finger complication amid anticipation for his Los Angeles Lakers debut.

The new Lakers center addressed his current injury in an interview during ESPN's broadcast of LA's 114-110 preseason home win against the Sacramento Kings.

"Finger’s good. Finger’s good," Kessler said. "Just kind of going through all the protocols right now. Talking to the coaches, the training staff.

"Feeling good."

Walker Kessler remains out with finger injury

Walker Kessler has yet to play for the Los Angeles Lakers this preseason.

Per reports, Kessler hit and jammed his finger on the backboard during a Lakers practice session, which forced him to be sidelined in the team's last three games.

JJ Redick already made it clear that Kessler's finger injury is "not concerning" and declared that the new franchise center will play in their remaining exhibition games.

As such, Kessler himself still has no idea when he might play.

"I’m not sure yet," Kessler said. “We’re still talking and I don’t wanna say anything that gets me in trouble, so we’re still talking.”

The Lakers still have two more games left to play in the preseason, facing both the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets next week before the Oct. 21 opening night.
