The 2026-27 Premier League campaign resumes this weekend, with Hull City welcoming Everton to the MKM Stadium on Sunday. Both sides have made positive starts to their respective campaigns and will be eager to pick up where they left off before the international break as they look to maintain their early-season momentum.
After a decade-long absence, Hull City are back in the Premier League and have enjoyed a fairytale return to the top flight, claiming two wins and two draws from their opening four matches despite facing strong opposition, including Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Chelsea.
The Tigers suffered their first league setback just before the international break, losing 2-1 to Newcastle United. Hull were slow out of the blocks at St James’ Park, finding themselves two goals down inside the opening seven minutes before goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis saved a penalty to prevent Sergej Jakirovic’s men from going into the interval with a three-goal deficit.
However, the newly promoted outfit improved considerably after the break, registering 19 shots to their hosts’ five as substitute Mohamed Ali Cho came off the bench to halve the deficit.
Despite a relatively underwhelming summer transfer window, Everton have made a bright start to the campaign and are one of four sides in the English top flight yet to taste defeat across all competitions this season.
The Toffees entered the international break on the back of consecutive home fixtures and emerged victorious in both. First, David Moyes’ men edged Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0, with Carlos Alcaraz scoring a late winner to secure their place in the last 16 of the EFL Cup.
Everton then returned to Premier League action days later and beat Ipswich Town by the same scoreline.

The Tigers are unbeaten in their last five home matches.
Hull City vs Everton Prediction
While Everton boast the stronger squad on paper, they have struggled to pick up points on the road in recent outings, a trend that bodes well for Hull's chances.
With little to separate the sides, we expect them to cancel each other out.
