Tyreek Hill has mapped out his NFL comeback, but he may have dealt himself a significant blow in a Miami courtroom.

The former Dolphins star, who was linked this week to a return to the Kansas City Chiefs, watched his own testimony become the biggest roadblock to his return to football. Hill took the stand Thursday while his estranged wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro, detailed a civil assault and battery case against him. The 32-year-old denied most of her claims but admitted that he shoved her into a wall during a fight, tried to break free hard enough to punch a hole in the wall, and confessed to making threats.

Hill told the court he denied ever hitting, scratching, spitting on, or trying to punch her while she was pregnant. He also acknowledged telling Vaccaro he could get other people to hurt her.

The free agent WR said he was "deeply ashamed" of the threat, even as the NFL is actively reviewing the allegations under its Personal Conduct Policy.

Speaking from the witness stand, Hill said, "I told her that night, I said, 'Don’t you ever touch me in your life'.

"I pushed her against the wall, and I tried to force her to get off me. I created a hole in the wall trying to force her to get off me that night."

Should NFL investigators believe Vaccaro's account over Hill's, he will likely be facing a significant suspension just days after Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, claimed the 32-year-old could sign with the Kansas City Chiefs for a reunion after injuries hit the Chiefs' receiving corps.

Hill has been recovering from the left knee injury that ended his 2025 season after four games. He suffered a dislocation and multiple ligament tears, including the ACL, but recently posted training footage and is targeting a return this season.

He has 819 career receptions for 11,363 yards and 83 receiving touchdowns, earned eight straight Pro Bowl selections from 2016 through 2023, and was named first-team All-Pro five times before the injury.

Hill's production was starting to dip before the knee injury. He went from a league-leading 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023 to 959 yards and six touchdowns in 2024, then managed 265 yards and one score in four games last season.

Hill's testimony now stands as another obstacle, bigger than any question about his knee's ability to withstand an NFL workload.

The league's Personal Conduct Policy review runs on its own track, so the NFL can make its call regardless of the jury's decision.

No team has publicly said Hill's testimony ended its interest, and the NFL has not announced a suspension. Any team considering a midseason signing must weigh medical questions, potential league discipline, and admissions made under oath in an ongoing abuse case.
