Arsenal boost as injured duo spotted at pre-match walk this morning

Arsenal take on Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon and Mikel Arteta has been handed a double injury boost.

Kai Havertz and Ezri Konsa were reportedly part of the Gunners’ pre-match walk this morning.

The Arsenal duo picked up knocks during the international break, returning to the North London club earlier than scheduled.

Havertz sustained a muscular injury and was seen as a huge doubt for today’s game.

Konsa was also seen as a doubt for the Leeds game, but the England international centre-back and the German attacker looked fine during this morning’s walk.

It remains to be seen whether they will both be included in the matchday squad, but seeing them with the team is a much-needed boost.

Arsenal are desperate to return to winning ways after heading into the break on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

The Gunners will fancy their chances against Leeds, but the Whites will not be a walkover given their form so far this season.

Leeds are unbeaten this season, with two victories and three draws to their name, and they will be eager to cause an upset against Arsenal and leave with a result.

While having Havertz and Konsa available will be good news for Arteta’s men, they have enough squad depth in those positions to perform well in their absence.
