Chelsea are finally back in action today, and that the expectation is that we will see a first start for Marco Palestra.
The Italian youngster signed in the summer but has been injured so far. In preseason he played at left back and right back, but given Pedro Neto is Xabi Alonso’s established option on the right, we think Palestra will start on the left if he’s fit.

Long term, however, we could see Palestra moved to the right. Jorrel Hato and Pep Chavarria are the other options on the left, and while both have their qualities, neither looks like they’ll go on to be World Class, especially as an attacking wing back.
That probably explains Chelsea’s transfer links to Roma teenager Emanuele Lulli. TeamTalk are reporting that the Roma starlet is being watched by the Blues and by Liverpool and Arsenal.
He’s making his breakthrough this year under Gian Piero Gasperini, and if he continues to start and do well, expect that interest to intensity. Still just 19, the Italian youth international looks like he could be about to have a breakthrough season under a coach who often gets the best out of players in an attacking sens.
