Tho the Seattle Seahawks offense has had some ups and downs having to deal with multiple injuries to key players, the Dark Side D has been playing steady and relatively healthy. Any trepidations regarding the match-up tomorrow versus the San Francisco 49ers can be waylaid by the fact that Ty Okada, and subsequently Leonard Williams, look to be playing. Our squad’s offense still has some kinks to work out, no doubt. We’ll see how that all looks. But the penultimate story that carries over from last season’s match-ups will be the Niners inability to effectively run their offense against Coach Macdonald’s scheme. Can the 49ers’ O figure out how to score meaningful points on the ‘Hawks? Will the Seahawks’ O find a way to look smooth and competent for more than a quarter or two? How important is a victory in this game to the Seahawks chances of winning the NFC West? Let us know how you feel in the comments below. Thanks for being here. Go, ‘Hawks!

What I'd like to see from Sam Darnold against the Niners
In the last game, Darnold looked jittery and uncomfortable. Win or lose, I really want to see him look comfortable out there on Sunday. Even better, I would love to see him get into a good rhythm. Now, this is not all on Darnold. Indeed, the OL, run game, and Fleury can have a huge impact on this. If the pass protection is really good, the run game serious threatens the defense, and Fleury's can scheme wide open targets, this will go a long way in making Darnold comfortable. I would be surprised if Darnold isn't comfortable and confident under these conditions. And I'm hoping this is a top priority for Fleury and the coaching staff.
However, more than Darnold's comfort, I want to see a clean game from him--not just zero turnovers, but no plays that should be, or come close to being, turnovers. He's been very good at preventing the ball from being knocked around so far (I'm not counting the carom off the helmet), but when he's on the move or under duress, he's made a few questionable throws. (I think this is related to him being comfortable or not.) If this doesn't change soon, turning the ball over multiple times won't be surprising. In a way, I feel like he should have the mindset that Drew Lock had going into the ARI game--i.e., make protecting the ball the highest priority. If that means throwing the ball away, forgoing a great completion, or even taking a sack, so be it. I will even applaud him for doing so, especially if this means eliminating those turnover risky plays/decisions.
