Arsenal have just beaten Leeds United 2-1, but all fans can talk about is Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners were poor for about an hour and went behind after conceding a sloppy goal. However, that woke them up, and goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimaraes sealed the win.
You would imagine that the two goalscorers would be getting all the praise in the world right now, but a lot of the chatter on social media is about Saka.
Arsenal fans say they are worried about Bukayo Saka
Bukayo Saka has been one of Arsenal’s best players for a few years now. The Englishman is ever-reliable on the pitch, rarely makes mistakes and is often very clinical with his actions.
However, lately, Saka just hasn’t looked like his usual self, even though his stats are still up there with the best wingers in the Premier League.
That had been on Arsenal fans’ minds, and after watching his performance against Leeds United this afternoon, many have voiced their concerns.
One tweeted: “This Saka performance is scary, bro. I’m actually worried for him. He can’t have regressed this much at 25. It’s unheard of.”
Another wrote: “What really happened to Bukayo Saka, man? He’s 25 and the top earner at the club. Noni Madueke being better than him is so worrying.”
“Saka’s form is a worry. A couple of seasons ago, I would have bet my house on him burying that chance at the end,” said another.
Another Gooner reacted to his performance by saying: “It’s as if Saka has lost the X-factor. His ability to be the centre of gravity of a game. Concerning.”
“This Saka performance is genuinely worrying, bro. Seeing him regress this much at 25 is sad, and it’s not entirely his fault. People call me crazy when I say we need a RW who can genuinely challenge him.”
Bukayo Saka needs to step up and he’ll know it
Arsenal fans above are not wrong. There definitely seems to be a drop in Saka’s level lately, and that was once again evident against Leeds this afternoon.
A lot of people talk about his speed and dribbling, but what concerns us the most is that his decision-making in key moments has let him down on more than one occasion already this season.
However, form is temporary and class is permanent.
The Hale End graduate will know better than anyone that he is capable of so much more, and we’re sure that will light a fire inside him ahead of the upcoming games.
Arsenal take on Lille in the Champions League next, and we really hope Saka will return to his best in that game.
