Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young opened up about what he thinks about Bam Adebayo's 83-point game last season on the Club Shay Shay podcast.
Young threw shade at Bam's record, stating that Kobe Bryant's record shouldn't have been touched, specifically calling out Adebayo for doing so.
"He should've stopped. I didn't think nobody would break that. Not Bam. The way he did it too," Young said.
"Some stuff you just gotta leave for certain people. I think it's because it's Bam. His name is 'Bam.' Who wants to see Bam over Kobe like that?" he added.
Adebayo's historic 83-point night
Bam Adebayo scored 83 points in March of last season in a game against the Washington Wizards.
He went 20-of-43 from the field and nailed 36 of his staggering 43 free throws across 42 minutes in the historic event.
His 83-point performance is now the second-highest scoring game by any player in NBA history, surpassing the 81-point explosion of Kobe Bryant during the 2005-06 season for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite his legendary performance, he faced a lot of criticism afterwards for the way he reached 83 points, with many pointing to the ridiculous amount of free throws he shot in that game.
He himself couldn't care less about the negative impressions of several people regarding his 83-point piece.
"I knew it's a two-way street. Some people are going to praise you because 83 is 83, no matter how you get it. Other people are going to say it wasn't the way Kobe did it. You start throwing that around, and I'm like, listen, I'm a Kobe fan. I got close to his record. What do you think I'm going to do? Try to break it," Adebayo argued after his historic night last season.
"I'm pretty sure if I had 81 and Kobe was on his way, he was not being like, 'You know what? I'm going to check myself out, with nine minutes left and I got 70.' Be serious."
Bam Adebayo teams up with Giannis in Miami
After years of waiting, the Heat ultimately fulfilled their dream of bringing another superstar to Miami by trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason.
Both Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo have fought and shared memorable battles in the past. Now, they will be forming one of the league's most powerful one-two punch tandems to finally get Miami over the hump.
The Heat have not experienced any notable success since their historic 2023 Finals run as an eighth seed, with last season ending in an early Play-In Tournament exit.
But now with Giannis headlining as the newest centerpiece of their franchise, Adebayo and the Heat couldn't be more ecstatic to reach their main goal of winning an NBA title.
