Unai Emery cut a frustrated figure after Aston Villa’s draw with Brentford, insisting that a point wasn’t good enough.
His side fell behind to a Yehor Yarmolyuk opener in the 10th minute, but Nicolas Jackson levelled the game shortly afterwards.
John McGinn thought he might have won the game with just 15 minutes left to play, but Kristoffer Ajer scored moments later to restore parity.
“To draw at home is not a good result. We are sad. We were expecting the match like it was,” Emery said.

“We expected to dominate the ball more than we did. Defensively, we conceded more than we expected. I am optimistic because we improved things we needed [to improve] after Forest.

“Lack of control is one thing today that we improved compared with Forest, but we have to improve it more. There are a lot of reasons why.”
Emery made just one change to the side that beat Spurs 3-2 before the international break, with Matty Cash coming into the team for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Wan-Bissaka, however, was brought on at half-time after Matteo Ruggeri suffered a hamstring injury.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis was not included in the squad, while Brian Madjo was also absent. George Hemmings is dealing with a minor knee injury.
Asked after the game how Villa have replaced Ezri Konsa, Emery said: “I think Lindelof is replacing him, playing well.
“Taylor is adapting to us, and I think that he is going to progress and feel better. When we arrived here, Konsa got better. We are going to need time with some players. We know it. We must be patient.”
