Xabi Alonso has revealed that he was pleased with the midfield partnership between Jordan Henderson and Moises Caicedo in the win over Bournemouth. The Blues manager added that the duo provided the much-needed stability in the midfield and complemented each other where necessary.
In an interview after their 5-1 win over Bournemouth, Alonso said (via Pys on X):
"In terms of the positioning, they help each other well. They give presence, they give stability as well. They are going to be the ones that are helping the rest of the players. As well, defensively, they give good balance. It's fundamental we get that area strong."
Henderson and Caicedo were brilliant in the pivot role against the Cherries. The pair will also be eager to build their partnership and understanding, which remains key to Chelsea's midfield stability.
The Blues have climbed to fifth in the Premier League standings following their win over Bournemouth. They have registered 10 points from six league games and will take on Everton in their next game.
